3 out of 5 stars not as much fun   September 3, 2010
Nadine Stecher
I bought the second game after I finished the first Indiana Jones which was a lot of fun too play. I was looking forward to the fourth installation of the movie series, and the new levels for the first three. But new levels here means that they totally made up scenes that don't happen in the movies, or are even contradictory to the movies. That didn't bother me that much, though.
Just like in the first one, the best thing is to simply smash everything. You might find keys or needed parts behind plants and furniture.
There are some improvements: It is mostly less frustrating than the first. Indy 1 had levels in which you are attacked from all sides at once by soldiers and flying weapons and what not, so you had a hard time getting closer to the villain. Here, you always know where the bad ones are. The levels are a lot shorter than the levels in the first version. That means you can save your progress more frequently, and it doesn't take as long to play through one level. You can now easily aim with your whip/weapon/tool at things or opponents instead of having to do a finger dance one your remote until your character faces the right way.
However, there are quite a lot of not so good things about the second game. You get confused about where to go to enter the next levels. True, there are big green arrows pointing at the doorway but you have to find these first. It's like going to a theme park in which you want to use the roller coasters in a specific order, only you don't know where they are. The levels are repetitive. Every part has one level with a never ending car chase in which you have to smash a number of villain cars. Once you finish off the first 5 or 6, you get 5 or 6 new opponents, and then 3 or 4 new opponents, then the main villain of that level .... The entire level is just driving around in circles and bumping into other vehicles. I found that extremely annoying and pointless. The final battle of the parts is always the same, the super-baddie is sitting on top of a tornado-like something and you have to throw things at it.

It is still fun to play but if I had to recommend one of the two games, I would go for part 1.

5 out of 5 stars Different from original, but still very fun!   August 30, 2010

The main difference is the layout. You now have several hubs with each one being centered around a particular Indy movie, three hubs for the Crystal Skull, one for the Super Bonus levels and a Creator Hub. It takes a little getting used to at first, but once you understand the layout it is easy to work with.

The new split screen effect for two players is great! I can't say enough about it. I often play with my kids and I love not fighting over who is going which way in the screen. The only time I find it awkward is during some of the flying races.

Free play has changed and is now tucked away in the Creator hub. It took me a while to find it and get the hang of it, but it is fun too. You can choose two players to play along with the basic two players the level plays with during the Story mode, so you get four players to play the level with.

The Level Builder is amazing. I found it very entertaining after spending a little while in it.
We have encountered a couple of freezes, but nothing long term that has caused us much grief, just a quick restart of the game.

They have really spread things out in this episode, but it all works out for a really good time. My kids and I all love playing this game and have almost finished it to 100% percent.

1 out of 5 stars Frustratingly buggy   August 27, 2010

I own five different LEGO games across PS2, DS, and PS3, and I enjoy playing this game every bit as much as the others, but this game is too buggy.

It usually freezes up at the end of a level or the end of the loading screen when switching movies. I can play anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours until the game reliably freezes and I have to force my PS3 to shut down, losing my game. I've never had this problem on my PS3.

I've given up playing my game before finishing the story mode, a true rarity for these LEGO titles. Would not recommend.

4 out of 5 stars the game is great best out of all the lego games so far!   August 23, 2010

Lego Indiana Jones 2 is so well done they have taking all the best things out of the privious games and put them into this one and then more. Now instead of being stuck to only travel where the other player is going now when you walk outside of the screens range it splits into two screens then when your close enough again it joins back. This allows you to break twice as much stuff twice as fast. Or if you are playing with one of the guys who is sitting there breaking everything while people are shooting you then you can run over there and beat them up without the worry of getting kicked out of the game. Lego Indiana Jones 2 is by far the best out of all lego games and what I said is just a small portion of the improvements and that is why I give it a 5 star rating.

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME   August 18, 2010
I love this game it works like you would just buy it in a store, brand new!! If anyone wants to buy this game or any game get the newer version because its as good as a brand new one and its a little bit more than the used but it works better!!!
