2 out of 5 stars VERY Glitchy!   September 9, 2010

I love the Lego games, but this was a very glitchy game (glitchiest of all Lego games). I had the PS3 version. Although I finished the game, my daughter had to start the whole game over because the bank in Diagon Alley was unlocked, but wouldn't let her play the bonus levels... Very frustrating.

4 out of 5 stars Another great LEGO game.   September 8, 2010

I have to say that the new targeting system found in LEGO: Harry Potter may have made it my favorite game in the LEGO series thus far. It's a blast reliving all the moments from the first half of the Harry Potter series, the game plays great, and the only "bumps" or "bruises" thus far are the same ones found in any of the LEGO games. Worth every penny, and already can't wait for the final 3 years!

5 out of 5 stars A sequel must be in the works!   September 8, 2010

I have spent the last few days playing this game endlessly. As an avid fan of Harry Potter and Harry Potter Lego, I was beyond impressed with the story line and how it was arranged. I also found myself laughing at a lot of the scenes (and slapstick comedy) that were snuck in! This game has a lot of re-playibility as it has about 150 characters to unlock, and many other goodies too. I found the time-turner levels particularly interesting, and quite 'sentimental'. I also love the fact that you get to play a lot, and I mean a lot, of characters. Some gamers might also love the fact that Harry Potter Lego lets you express your creativity as it has a build-your-own level aspect to it.

I got the X-Box 360 version and encountered only two glitches throughout the whole game, just freezes. Although, I do hear that people are getting stuck in the Dungeon below Prof. Flitwick's Classroom. The way to get out from there is by jumping on the Dragon's snout. (If that helps!)

This is the first time I've ever played a lego game on any gaming console but if all the games (Star Wars, Indiana Jones etc.) are like this, then I'm definitely giving them a try.

CONS: Cannot wait for years 5-7 to be released. (Umbridge is my absolute favorite!)

There is one more thing that I feel that I must say (point out, stress, talk crazily about) The soundtrack of the game was AMAZING! I can't put into words the rush of emotions of playing the game while listening to the orchestra. Again, Amazing! Buy it if only for the music.

All in all... This game was just plain fun. I'd recommend it to younger people as the levels are straightforward to get through. Especially for youngsters who are also fans of HP as they'll anticipate what's going to happen next (My younger cousin found it exciting). Still, to achieve 100% and unlock all the stuff, you'd have to be pretty hardcore.

Well as hardcore as any lego game will be!

3 out of 5 stars 100% possible   September 8, 2010

Like what many of the other reviewers said, this game has glitches. It crashes, it restarts and sometimes it just freezes, forcing you to do a manual restart on the ps3. I have played all of the other Lego games (batman, Indiana Jones, and star wars) and this game by far lacks a certain quality control aspect that is disappointing. Yet if you can get through the glitches, you can finish the game. That was something I was worried about when I first read the reviews, but I was able to get the 100% trophy a few days ago, so it is possible to complete the whole game.

As for the fun aspect, it's meant more for the Harry Potter fans out there. If you're not someone who has either read the books or watched the moving and have some sort of passing interest in the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter, this game is a pass.

5 out of 5 stars Potter Rules!   September 3, 2010
Jellyroll Morton (Bailey, CO USA)
This is the best LEGO game so far! (Although I am looking forward to the LEGO Universe.) A lot of the annoying things about previous games (Most importantly, the 1 screen that both characters are limited to sharing) have been improved and the graphics are amazing! Indiana Jones 2 has these qualities but is not as much fun as the Potter game. There are scenes from the books that are not in the movies and vica-versa. The spells are extensive and effective. The characters are all inclusive (along with some unnecessary variations like characters in sweaters and nightgowns). All in all, it is just plain FUN!
